I'm captain Erick Joseph, a full time fishing guide serving the waters of Charlotte Harbor.
As much as I love to fish, I also have a passion for nature and would love to spend the day with you and your family or friends, exploring Charlotte Harbor's abundant wild life.
Charlotte Harbor Estuary is a natural estuary spanning the
west coast of Florida from Venice to Bonita Springs on the Gulf of
Mexico. If you are planning to visit any of the wonderful vacation
communities that border Charlotte Harbor and its estuaries... know that
you are heading toward one of the most productive wetlands in Florida.
The estuary has a large watershed, including the Peace River basin, the
Chattahoochee River basin (via Pine Island Sound) and the Myakka River
basin, collectively covering 12,653 square kilometers, making it the
second largest open water estuary in the state of Florida.
Although Charlotte Harbor is known for its
various species of fish
including the
Tarpon, Redfish, Snook and Spotted Sea Trout. Its also a preserve of many of Florida's endangered
species, including the Florida Panther, American Alligator, West Indian
Manatee, Bald Eagle, Wood Stork, Piping Plover, American crocodile,
Green Sea Turtle and Loggerhead Sea Turtles, and the Gulf sturgeon. On
any given day of sight seeing with Captain Erick, many of these endangered or
protected species can be observed.
Spending a day on the harbor is fun filled learning adventure for the whole family .
