Boca Grande offers superb Spotted Sea Trout fishing. Networks of bays, mangroves, flats, and miles of thick grass surround the shores of Boca Grande and make it a perfect habitat for the fanged tooth. Sea Trout are known for blowing up on topwater plugs or smacking soft water baits off the bottom. It is not unusual to find other exciting Florida game fish species when fishing trout holes.

Boca Grande is known worldwide for being the tarpon capital of the world. Beginning in April, depending on water temperature, a large migration of Tarpon will come from the south and start their move into all the bays and passes looking for food and shelter.

A fine example of a Cobia caught on a  Boca Grande fishing charter.

The waters of Boca Grande offers a great opportunity to catch a variety of sport fish like this awesome Pompano that was caught on a Gold Glow DOA Shrimp.

Redfish are considered the bull of the backcountry. They fight like a bulldog - Long runs and aggressive! Some people come to Boca Grande just to catch Redfish. They are a prized catch to any angler. Charlotte Harbor and Boca Grande offer fantastic Redfish fishing. Redfish often live in the same habitat as the Snook. We will find them in and around some of the most beautiful water, mangroves, and oyster beds you will ever see. Redfish can be taken on a variety of baits artificial, live, and cut. There are many great Redfish holes in Gasparilla Sound and throughout the area. Fishing for Redfish with an experienced guide who knows how the fish move with the tide will greatly improve your catch.

Trout Fishing On The Shores of Boca Grande

Boca Grande Florida Fishing Charters

Trout Fishing on the shores of Boca Grande

Snook are one of Florida's most sought-after game fish. Boca Grande offers some of the best Snook fishing in the world. Its close proximity to miles of beaches, mangroves, docks and the world-renowned Charlotte Harbor estuary allows for endless opportunity to land the fish of a lifetime. Snook offer awesome head-shaking jumps, blazing runs, and they have a way of using their gill plate to cut the fight short. Snook are a true game fish that I love to stalk. If you fish with me you will long for your next Florida Snook fishing trip. Snook can be fished with live, artificial, and even cut bait. After a great day in the sun plan to spend a few hours with me fishing for Snook into the evening while enjoying the sunset.

I offer inshore and backcountry fishing charters on the waters of Boca Grande. Boca Grande offers a unique fishing destination with its miles of pristine beach fishing that you can target Tarpon, Snook, Pompano, mackerel, and much more. My favorite is to stalk the miles of flats and shorelines of charlotte harbor that hold some of the best inshore and flats fishing around. For the seasoned angler, you’re going to love the huge unobstructed casting deck and the total boat control of the Minn Kota I pilot that I run from the back of the boat which allows you the whole front to yourself and twin 8-foot power poles for total boat control. My preferred way to fish is to use artificial lures. To me, there is nothing better than a snook blowing up on a topwater or the smack of a redfish inhaling a shallow running lure. Sometimes live bait is the trick. That's the great thing about fishing its the hunt and trying different techniques. The waters of Charlotte harbor are full of life and it is not uncommon while on a Boca Grande fishing charter to see dolphin, manatee, osprey,  and bald eagles to name a few wild and beautiful species that call this area home.

Boca Grande is a small residential community on Gasparilla Island located on the beautiful aqua blue waters of South West Florida; Gasparilla Island is part Charlotte and part Lee Counties, while the actual village of Boca Grande, which is home to many seasonal and year-round residents, is entirely in the Lee County.
Boca Grande is known worldwide for being the tarpon capital of the world. Beginning in April, depending on water temperature a large migration of Tarpon will come from the south and start their move into all the bays and passes looking for food and shelter as they prepare for their annual spawning ritual.
